Mapes-VO today have put end to the rumours surrounding test driver Matt Hunts place in 2005, and are delighted to announce the brit will stay with the team in 2005.

Returning team principal Matt Maple stated "after a brief chat with matt earlier today he decided it was for the best to stay with the team, and we have to thank him for giving us another chance in 2005, the contract basis will be similar to 2004 with Matt having the option of racing elsewhere if he or another team so wishes, although staying under contract to Mapes-Vo. We are a team who will not stand in the way of a drivers development and I told Matt during our meeting that if he was interested in joining FinOz as we discussed that we would not stand in his way, however happily for us he decided tostay and that is great."

When asked about rumours linking Hunt to Simsoa Maple responded "Lawrence seems to have his hand in every biscuit jar these days, and as a warning to EIRE ive heard rumours that big L as we like to call him is looking to 'sign' not steal of course,. Martin Buchan so watch out!"

Maple left the conference looking as fit and healthy as ever, before trotting off to the EIRE motorhome after completing a testing session with the Irish team today, it was Maples first time at the wheel since Hockenheim and he managed a fastest lap of 1.16.2 after just 30minutes of driving, however it is unknown where Maples commitments will lie in the future with rumours linking him to JTM, MMC, Simsoa, EIRE, Mapes-Vo and even if he lost a bet with Phoenix CEO Andy Graydon, Woods Racing!
