Stealth Grand Prix owner Ted Cragg stopped by F1VWC headquarters today, checking in on updates around the league and confirming to the media circles his intention to see Stealth return in 2005.

"It's been a good break, a great one in fact, giving me lots of time to focus on many things both racing and non-racing related. But as I see the continuing battles for points and positions in the league, and remember the great fun and competition, I am certainly encouraged and inspired to keep Stealth's plans for 2005 steadily moving forward," said Cragg.

Stealth pulled out of the F1VWC in January of this year, giving way to the Puma F1 team. But less than six months went by before Cragg was seen around the paddock again and in July the team announced its intention to return to racing as soon as the opportunity arose.

"We've been operating with a skeleton staff since July, when our first few employees were re-hired," said Cragg. "It's hard to commit the time and money towards building a car and getting ready for next year when you're not sure that you'll even be racing, but we are confident that, one way or another, the Stealth name will soon be seen on the track again," he said.

Stealth has been mentioned as a potential leading candidate for the new F2 division of the VWC, should such a series start up over the winter. "We would indeed be interested in F2, but our focus remains on the F1VWC," Cragg continued. "We are confident that, with our long history and track record, Stealth would be strongly considered to fill any vacant spots on the grid. But we also expect tough competition and do not underestimate any of the teams on the Waiting List," he said.

The team plans to relaunch its website in the coming weeks and has a new test and development car under construction. As 2005 plans start getting more concrete, a driver will no doubt be hired and further testing will take place. Cragg comented, "We are intrigued by the recent Midland F1 announcement, not to mention Jacques Villeneuve's return, and it would be great to continue to see more Canadians in Grand Prix racing. It has always been one of my main motivations to fly the maple leaf around the world and I expect it will be seen again by the VWC soon."
