The surprisingly dry race day did shock most of the field, especially the Simsoa crew. Javier, who had qualified 6th in the wet, looked very grim at the clear sky above him as the Drivers' Parade coasted around the circuit. Nevertheless, the Simsoa fans showed their appreciation as the cars lined up on the grid. "We know our main weakness is that we lose places at the start, the Bridgestones do take a while to warm up, but they did their job today in which we're grateful..." said Lawrence at the Manager's Press Conference on Sunday afternoon.

Simsoa's new launch control system (GGS) "what we like to call our Get-Up 'n' Go System!" was showcased on Javier's car and it did show signs of helping the Catalan exiting the slow corners of Spoon and the Casino Triangle to take 10th place only 9 seconds behind his team-mate. His improvement was further illustrated by comparing his result at Suzuka with his result at Magny-Cours 2 weeks ago - nearly 50 seconds over a race distance!

However, David lifted spirits further by adding yet another point to his now total tally of 8 raising Simsoa's total to 19; 3 behind JTM. With the team's future in the league sewn up good and proper, the team can now look attentively at Interlagos - the final race.

Simsoa need at least 4 points at Interlagos without JTM scoring to leap up to 8th place in the constructors', Lawrence talked about it his team's thoughts, now at the Thursday Manager Press Conference at Brazil "I think we can do it. Javier and David are within 3 tenths of each other in the simulations and the laptimes look promising."

Let's hope this prediction rings true for the plucky peppermint.
