The 2007 Bacardi Stealth Renault Team Launch took place Sunday, March 4 at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain. Simultaneous to the car's presentation in front of a live audience of invited guests, the team's profile on VWC Wiki was uploaded and posted live to the world. After the launch, a summary of the day's events and a link to the new Stealth website also appeared on the Wiki site, capping off a busy day for the new project. VWC Wiki aims to be the encyclopaedia of the F1VWC, and with its launch yesterday Stealth is at the cutting edge of this exciting new endeavour.

Prior to unveiling the car and Wiki profile, Stealth treated its guests to a tour of the charming Spanish city of Jerez, a fine example of Spanish culture and hospitality. With the recent return to prominence of the Circuito de Jerez as a test track and a race track for support series, the city once again has the buzz of Formula One. Stealth is the first team to launch its car there, following in the footsteps of locations such as Valencia and Barcelona.

Once the tour had returned to the circuit, the guests assembled for the unveiling of the new Stealth car. Last year, Stealth turned heads with their stunning, unique and professional livery, and so expectations were high for the latest incarnation.

This was to be a fast paced event. No sooner had those present settled into their seats when the lights brightened, high beams trained on the stage and the new SGP 07 slid into view. The bright Spanish sun outside was nearly matched by the glow of spotlights and reporters' flashes as they caught their first glimpse of the new car.

Team Principal Ted Cragg and the team's drivers, David Brown, Phil Cullen, Kyran Brazier and Mal McKee, took turns answering questions and discussing the season ahead. The team had two cars present: one inside for the interior photos, and another just behind the wall, where Stealth mechanics were preparing for its maiden test run. As David Brown fielded more questions, Phil Cullen snuck backstage and jumped into the waiting car. The team had set up microphones in the garage for that stirring moment when the Renault F1 engine would come to life. In the midst of the interviews, the crack and wail suddenly reverberated around the press room, to the shock but delight of those present.

Cragg ushered the guests to the pitlane as Cullen eased his way out on to the track for the car's first laps. Within a few minutes, David Brown would have his turn and the two race drivers gave impressive demonstrations of the new Stealth car, which promises to be an even stronger competitor than the SGP 06 of last year.

Roving reporters on behalf of the team captured quotes from many of the VIP guests. Indeed, it was one of the biggest recorded assemblies of league personnel in years, and Stealth was proud to be the occasion for it.

EIRE owner and manager Willy Ponissi was present with his partner, Birgitte Wangensteen, and the pair seemed to be enjoying themselves. ?Well, Ted and Stealth did it again,? he said. ?The car surely is one of the most beautiful I've seen so far, which is a recurrent theme with Stealth. I was very pleased to notice the Vancouver 2010 and MakeTradeFair logo incorporated in the livery
