Team Racebase are happy to take 3 points from the Brazilian GP. Speaking to the legendary Autosport Magazine, Dave Harland gave a small insight into recent Team Racebase events and what the future holds for this great little team.

AutoSport: Its been a bit of a wishwash weekend for the Team at Brazil, is this going to be the last we shall see of Racebase antics.?

Dave Harland It was a hell of a strain on Peter to be running only one car this weekend after the untimely departure of Larry Karam but we salvaged what we could from the mess that was Team Racebase H.Q. last week. Under the circumstances Peter Visscher performed really well and held the reputation of the team in his hands as he took on the Brazilian GP. There were more than a few hiccups on the way to Brazil after Peter was nearly not allowed into the country due to his reputation as a party animal preceeded him.

I must say that it took several hours for the customs to let him through once they realised who he was and only after intense negotiations was he allowed to enter the country, on the promise of NO TEAM PARY after the race. Well, as you can imagine spirits were low over the weekend and and poor Chaz Charlton of TBA was inconsoleable as both TBA and Racebase were followed wherever they went by State Security Police Officers.

AutoSport: So why exactly did you lose Larry Karam then and will it have a lasting effect on the Team?

Dave Harland: Larry was offered a better deal in another Formulae although Formula 1600 isn't the pinnacle of motorsport, Larry was offered the team Lock, Stock, and Barrel for an amazingly low price and he had no other alternative to accept it and as his contract with Racebase did not allow him to be involved with another team Larry decided to go with that option and leave the Team, and, in answer to the second part of your queation, although it was always going to be difficult to replace Larry at such short notice, we did however have an eye on a young up and comming talent in Andrew Dickson, so there was always that road to take, which Im pleased to say we did, so no, there will be no long lasting ill effects of Larry leaving the Team.

AutoSport: "You were running 6th in the Constructors Championship before the race, and now you are still in the same position, do you feel that the team was lucky to hold on to its position?

Dave Harland: In a word, Yes, I feel that we were very lucky to have held that position in the Championship, and that was down to some of the other Teams having a few problems as well, Plus the running of one car didnt help.

AutoSport: It has also been reported this week of Team Logistic problems how true are these reports?

Dave Harland: lets just say that we might have had a better weekends racing if we had of had the right amount of parts for the right amount of cars and in the right place at the right time. But I would like to go on record in saying that that will be the one and only time that we will use Eds Deliveries.

AutoSport: Yes not one of your better ideas that one.... Thank you!
