Pacific were very pleased with the result that Harold Iedema obtained in the Japan GP, earning 11 points in just his second race. The new car and engine performed very well, although second driver Robert Civokuv crashed on about the 20th lap with handling problems.

After a post race meeting with Britten, it has been agreed that Iedema's fine form will be rewarded by racing in the more competitive supertec powered car for the next few races. In return Darren White will drive for Pacific, but this situation isn't a full trade, just a double loan as both drivers keep their contracts with their original team.

The Pacific team is fully committed to helping out Britten in any way it can, and this arrangement is a display of how good the partnership between the two teams is. Iedema commented afterwards that "racing at Britten - Supertec will have a positive reaction on the results, because the first driver is very fast so I will do my very best to compete with him, and to score many Championship points."
