The F1VWC GP finale at Brazil was a fitting end to an eventful season.

Before the race even started the official grid changed a lot between the qualifying session and the race with a total of eight cars receiving penalties. With only two teams (Finoz /Eire and Vod:Bul avoiding any penalties.

Laruent keersmaekers took pole only 0.3 ahead of Steve Elencevski and the race win looked to be going to one of these guys both nearly a second ahead of leontin Nemet in 3rd on the grid. The battle for 3rd place down looked tight with under 0.3 of second between 3rd on the grid and 6th. Mix in some interesting drivers towards the back of the grid receiving penalties who you would expect to come through for points, notably both RTT and Stealth cars and Alex Stocia of JPR who have all been regular points scorers this season.

The race itself started out as most expected with L keersmaekers and Elencevski pulling out a strong lead, both looking for a good end to the season.

A strong battle also developed behind with Nemet, V keersmaekers and Wagner close together all be it a way behind the lead two. Koski also in this area for most of the race although dropped back later in the race, maybe showing signs of not having driven this season? With Stocia, Boesch and Graydon coming up fast after their qualifying penalties.

The first casualty of the day was Mark wicks with 47laps to go in a larger accident, afterwards he said ?the controls stuck and speared me into the wall, i was a passenger.? all was ok luckily.

The race was an exciting one with battles all down the field, but unfortunately we could not see the end of one battle when Elencevski put it in the gravel at turn 4 with 5 laps to go. Leaving L keersmaekers with a large lead to pull off the win by over a lap. Vod:Bul's first official race win.

The battle of the rest had cut down to three drivers (Wagner, V keersmaekers and Nemet) now vying over two podium places. These three over a lap behind L Keersmaekers and a lap ahead of the rest only 13 seconds between them, Vincent Keersmeakers coming out on top by under 2 seconds to Nemet 3rd and Wagner in 4th another 9 seconds down the road.

The highest climber was Graydon moving up to 5th from his penalty start position of 13th. A consistent drive took him 10 seconds clear of Koski in 6th and Stocia only another 6 seconds behind another high climber.

The last points position went to Boesch nearly half a minute down the road from stocia but had the pace to pass fuller and Garcia the only other two to finish within 2laps of L keersmaekers.

A good end to the season the only downside is the Worlds Champion's DNF at this gp.

We hope to see all these drivers back for next season and the testing in preseason.
