Liam Hatchell managed to keep his cool in a field where the favourites suffered to claim wins in both the Feature and Sprint races and open an important gap over his opponents in the GPVWC Megane Trophy series.

With Janne Tanskanen jump-starting race 1 and then retiring from race 2 and Joe Consiglio being forced to pit for fuel when in a battle for P2, the English driver maximised the effect of his two wins and now stands 22 points atop Consiglio and 28 over the next closest opponent, "Mr Consistency" Mark Wicks.

The two races in Russia also saw the first points for Dan Rusu and Zac Rainey - their first ever points in any GPVWC-sanctioned competition - and a solid performance by an ever-improving Kieran Ryan.
