The new GPVWC site came into existence today after several months of behind-the-scenes preparation and development. The beautiful, functional new home of the Grand Prix Virtual World Championship, created by GPVWC Admin Michelangelo Manrique, has been released in time for the start of the 2010 Pre-Season testing on Thursday 18th February.

"It is still a very early release" explains Manrique "and many of the advanced functions that will be active during the season haven't been finalised yet". The distribution, marked as Alpha 1 release and whose working codename is rumoured to have been "Peacock", is meant to represent the basis on which to build the future of GPVWC - well beyond 2010.

"We will not have a new website every year" pointed out developer Manrique, "This distribution gives us the structures and the functionalities which we will require in the future to allow GPVWC to grow and offer a better experience to all users."

While this Alpha 1 release is a "work-in-progress" version, it enables all users to get a feel of things to come and to start enjoying the soon-to-start 2010 season. "Michelangelo did a great job once again" stated GPVWC Admin William Ponissi, "even though a lot of work will still keep us Admins busy, the development of the new site will enable all of us, Organisers and Members alike, to enjoy the championship more and more each day."
