Williamson Dynamics Team Principal, Ben Williamson, expects a slow start to the 2010 season he has declared, speaking today outside the impressive, palatial motorhome used by the team for public engagements ahead of tomorrow's final pre-season test, the outspoken Lancastrian stated that a delay in making a decision on planned aero upgrades would mean the team would field it's updated chassis later than some rivals.

"We had to take our time and analyse what was really right for us and the car. This meant some hard maths, but I'm happy the eventual upgraded package will work best for us. It's very tempting for team's to focus on the wrong areas for development, I'm confident we won't be making any such misjudgements."

The team also announced that a subsequent upgrade, developing other areas of the chassis would be ready to run within the coming weeks.

"Until such a time as the technical centre are happy with the package, we will be running our base setup. We expect, obviously, that we will suffer in the short term, however I expect that our form will improve after the first few races. I'd rather make the correct choices than rush through any old upgrade."
