Woods Racing have announced that league veteran Mark Wicks will once again drive car 3 in the 2011 GPVWC Superleague, subject to fitness. The British team have enjoyed a great deal of success with Wicks as their driver and, after 100 Grands Prix together in GPVWC, are looking forward to a record seventh season together. The team's manager, Ollie Woods, made clear retaining the Cornish driver was a top target for the team.

"Getting our driver lineup together for 2011 has been number one priority for the off-season and it goes without saying that I wanted to keep our winning partnership. Today we are halfway towards achieving that. Mark is not only a fellow-Croydonian (even if he now lives 300 miles away!) but he is also a good friend, a true gentleman, and an amazing driver. Having him onboard for a seventh season must be some sort of record I think - certainly no other driver has been as reliable or committed to the Woods cause. I will be doing everything in my power to ensure that our package this year is as quick as possible so that we can finally win the championship. Mark has recently had back trouble so there is still some uncertainty surrounding his fitness, but he should be able to compete this year."

When prompted about Wicks teammate, Woods refused to confirm whether multiple race-winner Kieran Ryan was to prolong his adventure with the outfit. After a below-par season in 2009, the Irishman has jumped back to the excellent standards his career has used everyone to, clinching a win in Bahrain and going close to adding to his tally in several other occasions. "We are close to being able to announce our second driver" said Woods. "It is no secret that I want Kieran Ryan to continue with us, as he has built a great rapport with the whole team including myself and Mark and is seriously quick. We are negotiating with him and hope to give him the reassurances he wants about the 2011 season in regards to the league and our management. I have pledged to make myself as available as possible in terms of race attendance as my race input wasn't as strong as I would have liked.

"We are extremely confident that our 2011 car will be one of the best out there after another great placing in the 2010 Superleague. We met all our engine objectives for the season and will be talking to Mercedes with a view to exercising the second year of our contract if the engine is as competitive as it was in 2010. We still need committed test and reserve drivers to help set the car up and deputise for Mark and hopefully Kieran - please do emailollie_woods@live.co.ukif you are interested. We can offer a great package and a prestigious nine year history of motor racing including 2nd in the championship for the last two years."
