The last minute changes by the GPVWC administration have far-reaching conqequences for many teams, but Berlin based Williamson Dynamics are less concerned than some.

"Of course we are disappointed, but we understand and fully support the GPVWC's decision to alter the technical regulations for the coming season." stated team owner Ben Williamson in response to media queries of his team's handling of the situation. "We do of course sympathise greatly with the new teams, who do not have any experience from last season, or a car to adapt" - Although there has been rumours of possible chassis technology exchanges between teams as an interim measure in order to keep the season on schedule.

The team's original intended entry, the WDF1.11, was of an exciting design. The car showed a lot of promise in early assessments and in a private test session in Belgium, the car actually outpaced all attendant competitors in the hands of new signing, Ojay Clark. As with all other teams who competed last season, WD is now making hurried adjustments to last years design. The underperforming WDF1.10.

Tom Eley, the team's new Director of Race Engineering remain confident that his team, currently working round the clock, are capable of turning round the fortunes of a car which proved a significant embarrassment to a team with with a rich history of strong design; "The team learned alot that season, moreover I'm calling the shots now in engineering terms. Having a new perspective and fresh input can reinvigorate a design. I would say the car is better than merely salvageable, and the best news is that our newly developed 7 speed gearbox is still viable for this design." commented Eley.This in itself is again seen as a strong indication of WD's much rumoured split from engine partner Toyota.

Continuing, the Briton added; "The shorter wheelbase removes a lot of headaches, and much that we learned in the development of the WDF1.11 is transferable. I personally believe this car will perform well enough to do the team justice." The team subsequently announced that the WDF1.11 was now being redesignated and prepared for a possible entry into another formulae, with the design enjoying further development ahead of a possible relaunch in the GPVWC next season. Many in the press are strongly speculating that we could be enjoying a look into the raw elements of the WDF1.12. This year's reworked design will be rechristened the WDF1.11/B.
