It has been announced by Malta Force GP manager Jason Muscat that the team will be back for another year after originally announcing they would not be competing in the 2012 season. The team will replace Racing Team Schroten who decided to pull out at the eleventh hour for unknown reasons. This is bound to send shockwaves through the paddock and worry the rest of the field as the Malta Force team won 12 of the 20 races in 2011. This was thanks to good management and the strong partnership of Lewis Redshaw and Bart De Vos.

Jason Muscat himself picked up a win for his own outfit last season and will be the number one driver this year. The young Maltese did a terrific job in the Supercup despite his main priorities lying with his race seat in the Superleague. This time Muscat has no such priorities and will be fully focused on winning Malta Force a second constructor’s championship as well as going for the drivers’ championship himself.

For the first time in GPVWC history it’s an all Maltese line-up with Terence Grech, winner of the Virtual Racing Malta championship completing the line-up. Muscat commented on the newcomer to GPVWC.

‘Terence is a committed and consistent driver and this can be seen from his history in the VRM. This is exactly what Malta Force needs, consistency and dedication is the key to success in this series. It might take Terence a while to get up to speed while he adjusts to the cockpit but he will surely show his true potential as the season goes on’.

Supercup winner Ojay Clark is set to race for the team if Muscat or Grech have other commitments and from the start of the season will be listed as the official test driver. Clark however is not expected to test in a competitive fashion, instead choosing to focus on his duties with Synergetic Motorsports in the Superleague.

So the champions are back with an all Maltese driver line-up, and more importantly, a very strong one. Anyone who thought they had the title wrapped up this season will surely have to think again. Visit Malta Force GP website
