Superleague team Nordsjoen Racing announced Jarl Teien as replacement for Joe Consiglio - with the Norwegian driver expected to be in the seat as early as tonight in the Monaco Grand Prix.

The announcement comes on May 17th, incidentally Norway's National Day: at Nordsjoen, everyone will hope that's a good omen for the rest of the season, with Teien having to step into some big shoes to fill. The young driver, who joins after his contract was bought out from Kernow Sport, where Teien was a tester, will partner Pavel Loknovski as the team tries to gather momentum to stay close to P2 in the Constructors' Standings.

"Jarl is an immensely talented driver and we are confident he'll do good in the car" said Team Manager William Ponissi. "Monaco is not the ideal place to get your debut in a Superleague car but we have been talking to Jarl and he knows we're playing a long term game."

The young Norwegian relished the opportunity to be joining Nordsjoen: "It's an honour joining Nordsjøen because of its history, and I would like to thank Will for giving me this opportunity. I'm sure to give it my best" were Teien's first words as a Nordsjoen driver. "I just need to get used to the car and how the setup works. I will work hard with Pavel and do the best possible result with what I have", he mentioned about Monaco, before stating he can "handle the pressure" of stepping in the car that propelled Joe Consiglio to two World Titles.

"If we get the setup right and keep it out of the walls I am aiming at a top six placement" said Teien about his prospects for tonight's race. "For the season it's all about making progress in the car and obviously it's to try and catch Midnight's performance; I am looking forward to the upcoming races!"
