In 2011 Ojay Clark driving on keys in an under-developed car after 6 rounds of the GPVWC Superleague Championship was lying 6th in the championship on 25 points and with a podium to come at the next race. In 2012 on a wheel in an under-developed car after 6 rounds of the championship he lies 15th on just 4 points.

Clark assures us that while his lifestyle has changed he is just as motivated as ever to do well. Strangely he has allegedly found a huge amount of raw pace in recent races that has even impressed the likes of Euler, Morris, Consiglio and Rowland.

So what's happened? Clark is still capable of shelling out impressive qualifying performances and overtakes including round the outside of Tom Eley in China, Ruud Heesterbeek and David Stanton in Hungary, and Mark Stanton in Monaco. But come race day something always appears go wrong. "This season has been a nightmare come true so far, bad luck, silly mistakes and more bad luck have completely blighted my start to the season. Although the car is under-developed, without the mistakes I've made this season I would be on around 21 points, not 4",. Clark accounted for several mistakes in Australia, running out of fuel in Abu Dhabi, the incident in Spain and the wheel problems that destroyed his races in Hungary and Monaco. Fierce on-track rival Kieran Ryan was seen slipping something into Clark's morning coffee just hours before the Monaco GP. These sources however have not been confirmed as legitimate.

Clark was keen to point out the improvement in his pace from the Chinese GP to the Hungarian GP. "It was a time where I made major discoveries in not just the setup but also the wheel settings that have gained me significant amounts of time. I showed it by running as high in 3rd at Abu Dhabi before my awful mistake." Clark then commented on the latest blow to his campaign, Monaco. "The penalty is both infuriating and embarrassing. I have kept my driving very clean this season, I had visibility problems in Monaco coupled with a lot of frustration vented from the previous three races. I was too aggressive with the track limits like several others, and boy, did I suffer from it. I agree with my punishment for the track limits but what I do not agree with is people assuming that the people who got caught out in Monaco must have been cutting all season long. This is simply not true as I've spotted several people cutting in race and qualifying sessions in earlier rounds that didn't get caught in Monaco through early retirement."

Finally Clark was asked about his comment on the forum regarding his doubt over driving in the next race in Canada. "There was some confusion as to what the comment was about. When I said I may not be able to race it wasn't because of the Monaco penalty." Clark commented on Tuesday afternoon he was involved in a bad accident which led to concussion and severed toes on his left foot. "Initially I thought I would be out for the rest of the season but since then I've assigned a new button for my brake pedal and all is well, with the upgrade package we have for the next race I should be fighting for good points again". A spokesman for Synergetic Motorsports confirmed despite a terrible start to the season, development wise, measures have been taken to ensure that Synergetic will be able to reach a maximum of 30 upgrades before the end of the season which should see them at least close to rivals Hawkeye Racing and Nijo Racing by the end of the season in terms of development.
