Midnight Motorsport today confirmed one of
the worst kept secrets in the paddock with the team confirming that Data
Analyst and Reserve Driver Jamez Shepherd had left the team following the
Canadian GP.

The team provided a brief statement;
thanking Shepherd for his service to the team and wishing him luck for the future.

"First
and foremost, we would like to thank Jamez for his efforts since joining the
team. He has worked as a key component of our outfit and of course contributed
towards the great run of form our team has seen throughout these early stages
of the season.

This
move is one that was mutually agreed upon by both parties; it is no secret that
Jamez has great plans for the future and so we wish him the best of luck with
theseendeavours. It is, however, unfortunate that these plans were not with
Midnight Motorsport and as such we feel it only appropriate to release Jamez
from his senior duties within the team effective immediately in order to allow
him the opportunity to focus on his future.

As
for his role as reserve driver, we can confirm that we reached an agreement
with another party that will see Jamez vacate his seat as reserve driver here
at Midnight Motorsport. Of course we are not at liberty to disclose the
identity of the other parties involved in these discussions and as such we ask
that you wait for the appropriate announcements to be made from those
involved."

The team has not yet commented on who will
take over the now vacant reserve seat available at the team, however, with just
one in-season test remaining the team will be forced to decide whether or not a
fourth driver is even required given the small amount of running the driver
would receive; particularly when you consider the relentless commitment of
current third driver Alex Cooper towards the team's free practice efforts at
each Grand Prix.
