Southampton-based veterans Woods Racing today confirmed their lineup for their eleventh season in the highest echelons of GPVWC.

The team have built a reputation for blooding young talent into the Superleague and the 2014 lineup is no different.

American driver Danny Asbury joins the team after a cameo in Formula Challenge last year.and will take the #16 car. Roy Schroten, long time friend of the team, gets his chance in Superleague after working his way through the career ladder and drives the #17 car. There is a nod to the familiar with Ben Warren resuming his reserve driver duties from last season.

In addition, the team is pleased to announce the continuation of sponsorship deals with Novatech and Southampton University Ballroom and Latin Dance Society (SUBLDS), as well as a new partnership with the Racing Aces Performance Zone. In addition, the team will continue to build its famous Trinity engines after an incredibly successful first season. The team look forward to welcoming further partners in the buildup to the season.

Ollie Woods, Team Principal: "It's great to finally announce a complete lineup for 2014 after such a dramatic off-season. It does feel a little strange to have a brand new race lineup, but I have complete faith in both drivers and I can't wait to see the results that they can achieve, even with the standard of the league getting ever higher.

Danny has a proven pedigree, having scored well in his Formula Challenge showings last year as well as his touring car ability being well known. He has shown himself to be a conscientious learner and has integrated into the team really well.

Roy did a great job in Supercup last year and was also impressive in the few Superleague races he took part in. He too has worked hard to prepare for this season and is always willing to take feedback on board. He's kept himself busy and has won elsewhere in the off season which augurs well for the coming campaign.

Ben is always dependable, which is one of the strongest traits we look for in drivers. He was invaluable during our rollercoaster season in 2013 and put the team in front of his own personal goals by agreeing to drive the last few races of 2013. He has pace and still has potential for even more. I'm sure he'll do a great job when called upon.

All in all, I'm extremely excited to have these gentlemen as part of the team, complemented by our old friends at PB, our old-new friends at FA, and of course Velocity Racing in Formula Challenge too. It's exciting to have such a network of teams working together with the same ethos of teamwork and fair play that we've raced by for eleven years and I hope for success in 2014."

Danny Asbury, Woods Racing #16 Driver: "It's a humbling experience trying to find a seat in GPVWC, especially for either SC or SL. During my time searching, I pretty much ran the gauntlet of emotions--from thinking I'd get a drive easily enough, to the understanding it would be difficult, all the way to the brutal realization that I had missed the boat entirely and would have to wait for 2015. So when I got the call from Woods to come on for their 2014 Superleague operation, I was in complete shock.

I'm incredibly excited to be with the team. I do realize it was some odd circumstances that left Woods caught out without a driver, but I am still very appreciative for them looking my way even with other options on the board. Considering the bulk of my simracing resume lies with my skillset in high-speed touring cars, Woods taking me on is a bit like an F1 team hiring a DTM driver. Sometimes it works, other times not so much. I guess only time will tell here.

I know a lot of R&D has been pooled in recent years for this 2014 campaign, so both Roy and myself know we'll have to be sharp this year, especially when taken under consideration that R&D has been changed ahead of the season. Ben has also been secured as the reserve driver, so he should be able to bring his knowledge from the 2013 season with him, which is just invaluable at this point.

Hopefully together we can get rid of this nonesense 'Woods curse' and set the record straight!"

Roy Schroten, Woods Racing #17 Driver: "I am very happy to be part of the Woods team. Knowing Ollie for some time now, I know he is a good team manager who always manages to get the most out of things. I am looking forward to working with Danny and Ben as I am sure it will work out great. With the new car regulations it will be interesting to see what will happen, but I hope we can get some points out of every round and build up a very competitive team. It is an honour to drive for Woods in my first full season in the Superleague. It is a dream come true and I hope we will have a great year together."

Ben Warren, Woods Racing Reserve Driver: "I'm very happy to once again be the test/reserve driver for Woods Racing. Despite the ups and downs the team had throughout the previous season, it was still a great experience working together with guys I've known for a while and raced against many times in the past. I'm excited to work alongside both Danny and Roy for 2014, and I hope we can remain a stable and consistent line-up through the whole year. With a year under my belt as a Woods driver, I'm still happy and motivated to help this team acheive their ultimate goals, and to lend support to the race drivers if ever required."
