Spaniard tops his second test with Canapino looking strong once more.
Ensuring that only two drivers would top a pre-season test in 2015, Fran Lopez led the times at the Circuito de Jerez yesterday with a 1:16.389. The Edonis driver was able to beat off a challenge from the ominously strong Agustin Canapino; the resurgent Nordsjoen driver ended up only a tenth away from the Spaniard.
Jordan Weekes once again set a top five time, his Target outfit being the team to set the most laps of pre-season testing. There he was joined by Bart De Vos, the Belgian once again showing the early stuttering Kernow Sport's potential, and Jarl Teien, a consistently strong presence for Woods Racing. The Norwegian who rounded out the top five was a mere five tenths away from Lopez' time.
Two drivers were notably absent from the primary crop though all 42 potential driver slots were once again filled. Hawkeye's Gergo Baldi, touted to be a main challenger in the title race this year, filed his first non-attendance of the year alongside two-time Superleague champion Mikko Jakonen for Phoenix F1.
