Rudy van Buren became the 2017 GPVWC Superleague World Champion, winning one of the longest running and most prestigious rFactor 2 competitions in the world of simracing.
Austin, TX - The Dutch ace, who triumphed in the rFactor 2 qualifiers of McLaren's World Fastest Gamer and will compete for a one-year simulator driver contract with the Formula One team in November, won the Superleague with three rounds to spare, courtesy of a dominant performance at the Circuit of the Americas on Thursday night.

The Vod:Bul Racing driver made his mark of the championship from start to finish, with 10 wins out of the 15 rounds completed so far. He becomes the first Dutchman to win the GPVWC Superleague in 18 seasons.

By adding the prestigious Superleague title to his World Fastest Gamer accolades, van Buren establishes himself as one of the most successful and talented drivers competing on Studio 397's rFactor 2.

The Austin showdown saw van Buren start from pole position and drive off into the distance. Despite a brave strategic attempt, Nordsjoen's Florian Geier was unable to respond to van Buren's blistering pace and had to settle for second. Vod:Bul's Risto Kappet completed the podium, closely edging Jarl Teien of Wauters Automotive.

It was yet another exciting race in the GPVWC Superleague, with the commentary of Jake Sanson and Joshua Anderson narrating another memorable page of GPVWC history. With three rounds left in the season, there is still a lot to play for with the Constructors' title and top three positions still up for grabs.

Congratulations to Rudy van Buren - and see you at the end of year gala as the Dutchman collects his championship trophy at the GPVWC Day!
