Ginetta Junior rookie winner Luke Browning will head the Downforce Racing team's World GT championship assault alongside team boss Jake Sanson.

Browning will compete in tomorrow's season opener at Sepang, Malaysia alongside the talented Macedonian racer Erhan Jajovski whilst Sanson is abroad on commentary duties.

The Richardson Racing driver - who took his maiden Ginetta Junior rookie victory at Rockingham last season - has been addicted to sim racing for many years, and has shown record lap time pace on Project CARS and Assetto Corsa whilst working on his main goal of competing at the Le Mans 24 Hours. Stepping up to race in the GPVWC World GT Championship is an important step in the 15 year-old's motorsport development moving forward.

Browning - based in Frodsham, Cheshire - has also competed in the Simply Race Touring Car Championship as a privateer entrant, impressing in his maiden outing at Suzuka in 2016. He is also acting as reserve driver for the Formula Challenge team, captained by BirelART UK Series drivers Tom Davison and Harry Graham. The team is full of confidence for both its GPVWC campaigns after Davison bagged the team's first points of the year last week at Shanghai, and with Browning and Jajovski lining up on the grid at Sepang tomorrow for the team's first race in World GT since 2015 - and with the new Bentley Continental GT - hopes are high for a strong assault in Malaysia.
