Mapes-VO were happy after the second days testing in the fast twisty Barcelona circuit. After a series of technical problems forced them to scrap day one Peter Van Oostende ran a competitive 30 laps in the car today posting the third fastest time.

He was mainly working on the engine as the car has been so far flawed by the lack of grunt in the Honda engine in comparision to some other teams.

Maple said "Day one was a shambles, the whole operation came to a stand-still because of some internal damage that happened on arrival, we are still not sure of the problem but its thought that its the same problem that caused Peter to not get off the grid in Melbourne"

Day Two though has been a considerable improvement, Peter-VO completing 30 laps and posting the 3rd fastest time concerntrating mainly on engine testing, we were happy with third although we know the car as more potental, its the first time we have completed about 30 laps straight out without any problems so its a big step forward for the team. Matt comented "Peter was great today, he was being watched closely by our new friend as well who will be making his first appearance for Mapes-VO tomorrow".
