Dan Lawrence has resigned from his seat at DPI Racing, effective immediately. The British driver is reportedly very unhappy with comments made by his Team Manager, Dan Prescott, in a lengthy ICQ debate late last night.
"While in a heated debate with Dan P regarding reliability issues, he casually suggested that DPI 'could' pull out of the GPVWC, leaving myself without a drive." Lawrence commented, "I took great offence to this and saw it as a blatant threat/blackmail attempt....which is the main reason I am resigning"
Lawrence continued, "I have always tried my best for DPI, and really do not want to continue racing for a Team Manager who would try a trick like that"
Lawrence confirmed that he will not be starting the Malaysian Grand Prix.
