Stealth-Honda Team Principal Ted Cragg has described his team's lack of participation in the Monaco Grand Prix as "a helpless feeling", owing to the difficulty of communication.

"When our drivers fail to keep in touch and let me know their plans, even if those plans involve not being able to race, I am at a complete loss. I can send email after email but it is up to them to respond, and time passes so quickly that it makes it very hard to find a replacement in time" said Cragg.

Stealth-Honda came into the Monaco GP weekend on a good run, scoring two 4th place finishes in three races and challenging for 5th place overall. #1 driver Joe Consiglio was already expected to miss the race, but the team was shocked when both #2 driver Martin Ortiz and Test and Reserve driver Bernardo Bercht failed to show up.

"The only thing I can do," says Cragg, "is to ensure there are clauses in their contracts that state this won't go on indefinitely. Each driver in the team has two chances to miss a race without a reason. After that, they can be dropped."

It thus appears that new signee Martin Ortiz is already on thin ice, despite being with the team for scarcely a month. Stealth-Honda can only hope to have things back under control for the next race, in Montreal in two weeks time.
