Report
Ruud Heesterbeek won the very first Atlantic Series race, at Barber, but Lars Brugman finished no lower than 5th during the season and would head the championship going into the finale at the Circuit of The Americas. Heesterbeek won the final race, but Brugman secured the inagural Atlantic Series drivers championship crown by finishing in 2nd place. Brugman and Heesterbeek's respective teams, Team Proline and Walk Racing had an even tighter duel for the honor of the teams championship crown. Entering the final lap, Walk had enough points to win the title, only for their second car to drop down the order, having underfuelled. Thus, Team Proline won the teams championship.
The Honda engines had the advantage on the road courses, which made up the majority of the calander: this was the powertrain of choice for both Walk and Proline. However, both the Indy Classic and Grand Prix of the Carolinas, the two oval events on the calander, were won by Chevrolet-engined cars: it was clear that the Chevrolet engines had a significant advantage on the ovals.

- 1 Eric Stranne was initially classified as the winner of the 2015 Indy Classic, but his car was subsequently found to have been in breach of the engine regulations. As Stranne was penalised, Ben Warren inherited the win. Stranne's fastest lap, however, was allowed to stand.
