Douwe Tapper is a Dutch sim-racer currently associated with VBMotorsport and primarily drives for Tanskanen Racing in Formula Challenge, as well as being an occasional reserve driver for the Vod:Bul Supercup team.

Tapper on his way to winning both races at Turkey

Tapper joined GPVWC in 2013, having raced previously in the WCS league. Tapper replaced the departing Ed Williams at Tanskanen, making his debut at the Korean round, and immediately made a name for himself. Challenging championship leader Emanuel Gaczella for pole, Tapper then challenged him throughout the race, though unfortunately his dream start didn't end as well, colliding with Gaczella on the very last lap and so following him home to 7th place. Race 2 saw Tapper spin at the first corner and drop down to 32nd by the end of the first lap. 14 laps later, Tapper crossed the finish line 5th.

At the next round at Turkey, Tapper became the first driver in 2013 to win both races in a single round. In the rounds since, Tapper has notched up several more victories and podiums, although he has also picked up several retirements including at the relatively lacklustre French Grand Prix, where he failed to score any points for the first time since joining the league. Regardless, Tapper has transformed the team's season, with both himself and Tanskanen rocketing up the tables.

Tapper has also filled in for both Dan Rusu and Morten Wernersen in Supercup. Again there Tapper has impressed, though was unfortunate to drop out of his first race, at Britain, just before the end; he was eventually classified 9th. A scrappy race at Monza saw him finish 13th but at France, Tapper went some way to undo his misfortune the previous night by bringing his car home in 3rd, though he was unlucky to lose 2nd place right at the end.
