Spaniard makes full time move to Superleague following rise up the Career Ladder.
Edonis Engineering have announced this evening that Spaniard Fran Lopez will partner the previously announced James Johnson for their 2015 season campaign.

Lopez made his breakthrough into the headlines during the 2014 Formula Challenge and World Sport Series seasons where multiple podiums earned him a promotion to Supercup with Positive SimRacing and a Superleague reserve drive with Kernow Sport.

Fran sat down with James Kirk to talk over his views on the year to come.

What do you expect from yourself and Edonis in the 2015 Superleague Championship?

"To be honest, I don't think it will be easy for us to perform brilliantly, but we'll put all our efforts into it. We will focus on learning how the upgrading system works, fighting our direct rivals and seeing how they work."

Did your 2014 reserve role at Kernow prepare you for a full season of Superleague racing?

"I think Supercup was enough to make me ready for Superleague but, for sure, racing those three races with Kernow helped me a lot in learning how this series works. Also, the Young Driver Test with Hawkeye was a really useful event to improve against other drivers and meeting my future rivals."

Do you think you can improve yourself as a driver during the 2015 Superleague season?
:
"Yes, for sure. We are here to learn as drivers and as a team. Personnally I consider Superleague as a good place to show the world your skills as we are going to face people with faster cars."

Which skills would you like to improve upon in 2015?

"I think my pace and consistency are fine. I'll focus on being more patient and calm on the track."

What do you think of your teammate, James Johnson?

"Well, he did really well in Formula Challenge showing himself as a fully competitive driver. I think he's ready to be in Superleague alongside myself and we'll learn and work together to give the 120% required to be competitive."

Team Principal Menno Klont had this to say on the season ahead:

"We are happy to sign two really talented drivers and It's a decent line-up for our first season. We arrived late on the driver market because we were not completely sure we would get in.

2015 is a new start for Edonis and we are so proud to be the first Dutch teams in so many years. We want to show that we are a strong force in the Superleague and we hope to do well.

Our ambitions are high, we want to finish within the top eight of the Constructors' Championship. I think with this driver combination it might be possible."
