The newly named AB Racing have made a winning start as a team with championship leader, Jonathan Holmes taking victory in race 2 at Barcelona.

After technical issues at the start of race, Jonathan recovered from 25th place after lap 2 to finish 11th with a calculated but gutsy drive up through the field. The result meant that Holmes started from pole position in race 2 and from the start, he controlled the race brilliantly from start to finish, which is a extremely important result for the teams championship to play for.

Menno Klont had his best event since Melbourne, finishing 7th in race 1 and 4th in race 2. Menno had been struggling a lot in testing, tyre wear was a big issue and race pace was a big issue for the Dutch Veteran all through the build up of the event. This was further affected with a illness picked up on the day of the race so Menno wasn't 100% fit either.

but he found the sweet spot during the event, everything seem to come together for him and 2 very solid results to help him secure 6th in the drivers championship.

AB Racing sit on top of the teams championship and while we are on top for the moment, we know that TSA Apex and particularly Mouseone look extremely strong at every event, so deep down I'm not expecting to stay at the top at the end, but a lot can happen between now and the end of the season! 11 rounds still to come of course with Monaco coming up next on the 15th May.
