+ | ==Season Summary== | ||
+ | |||
+ | The Masters series returned for a third time in October of 2011 when 40 cars took to the track in the season opener at the Norisring, a new record turnout for the series in a season of record numbers of entries.
+ | |||
+ | The 14 round championship was ultimately won by [[Simon Cattell]], the Englishman took 3 wins, 3 poles, 9 podiums, 11 fastest laps and scored points in every race allowing him to romp home to the title by a clear 100 points to his nearest rival. However he was battled hard in the championship by [[Jack Keithley]] who exited the series after Rounds 7-8 at Istanbul whilst leading the drivers points standings, eventually ending 3rd in the championship despite missing the last 3 events.
+ | |||
+ | The season was action packed as ever and played host to some exciting tin top racing that the series has become known for. The 2011 season also made first time GPVWC race winners of [[Steve Davis]] and [[Jarl Teien]] whilst recognised GPVWC names such as [[David Jundt]], [[Dave Carr-Smith]], [[Ojay Clark]], [[Jason Muscat]] and 2010 Masters series champion [[Joe Consiglio]] also took victories.
+ | |||
+ | [[Bart de Vos]] failed to turn consistency into a race victory on the season but took home the runners-up spot in the championship with great aplomb, securing his name as one to watch for the future.
+ | |||
+ | [[MMC Racing]] returned to the series for a full schedule and with a combination of drivers secured the Constructors championship for the second time, pipping newcomers [[Tiger Express Motorsports]] by 35 points thanks to consistent points scoring from [[Philip Cullen]], [[Adam Rouse]], [[Tom Eley]], [[Steve Davis]] and team owner [[Ryan McConkey]].
+ | |||
+ | By seasons end the Masters series had further cemented its place as a popular GPVWC series, playing host to a record breaking 17 different teams and 61 participating drivers across 14 rounds.

Race Weekend Format
Two races per ‘round’. Consisting of a 25 minute or feature race, and a 15 minute sprint race. The starting grid for Race 2 will be the reversed results of Race 1.
- Practice = 20 minutes
- Qualifying = 10 minutes
- Warm-up = 5 minutes
- Race 1 (Feature) = 25 minutes
- Race 2 (Sprint) = 15 minutes (Reverse Grid)
Series Changes
For 2011 the race times for both rounds will remain the same as 2010, however each race will have a absolute lap length in order to avoid issues such as under filling fuel in the cars due to miscalculation of the race length. The lap count for each race will be declared prior to the event based on the length of the lap time at any given track.
Three car teams also make a return for 2011 in order to allow for bigger grids due to popular demand. A maximum grid size has not yet been imposed but a decision will be made after pre-season testing on the size of the grid, in the event of more cars entered than slots available the times of qualifying will declare those that are allowed to enter the 2 races.
The series schedule has been lengthened to 14 rounds with the single round event dropped from 2010. Due to the enlarged grid size for 2011 it has been decided the Top 15 positions will score points but kept to a similar points scale as previous seasons.
Scoring system
Points will be awarded to the top 15 classified finishers. Fastest lap and Pole Position for the Feature Race yeild a point each.

Season Summary
The Masters series returned for a third time in October of 2011 when 40 cars took to the track in the season opener at the Norisring, a new record turnout for the series in a season of record numbers of entries.
The 14 round championship was ultimately won by Simon Cattell, the Englishman took 3 wins, 3 poles, 9 podiums, 11 fastest laps and scored points in every race allowing him to romp home to the title by a clear 100 points to his nearest rival. However he was battled hard in the championship by Jack Keithley who exited the series after Rounds 7-8 at Istanbul whilst leading the drivers points standings, eventually ending 3rd in the championship despite missing the last 3 events.
The season was action packed as ever and played host to some exciting tin top racing that the series has become known for. The 2011 season also made first time GPVWC race winners of Steve Davis and Jarl Teien whilst recognised GPVWC names such as David Jundt, Dave Carr-Smith, Ojay Clark, Jason Muscat and 2010 Masters series champion Joe Consiglio also took victories.
Bart de Vos failed to turn consistency into a race victory on the season but took home the runners-up spot in the championship with great aplomb, securing his name as one to watch for the future.
MMC Racing returned to the series for a full schedule and with a combination of drivers secured the Constructors championship for the second time, pipping newcomers Tiger Express Motorsports by 35 points thanks to consistent points scoring from Philip Cullen, Adam Rouse, Tom Eley, Steve Davis and team owner Ryan McConkey.
By seasons end the Masters series had further cemented its place as a popular GPVWC series, playing host to a record breaking 17 different teams and 61 participating drivers across 14 rounds.
