Despite the cold, winter-like conditions, newly formed team Velocity Racing went ahead with their launch at the newly created team base in Oxfordshire, England. Team boss Ben Warren opened proceedings with a brief statement about the team and their expectations for theinauguralFormula Challenge season at GPVWC.

'Velocity Racing is an independently ran team, with no affiliation to any current Superleague or Supercup teams. I created this team to help give rookie, or existing drivers the chance to hone their skills in the newly created Formula Challenge series. We currently have no ambition to extend our operations to higher level series at this moment in time, our sights are fully set on helping our drivers achieve their maximum potential, and give them a place to race.'Moving to the topic of drivers, Warren then announced the team's new driver pairing. 'I would like to proudly announce that Velocity Racing's first season in Formula Challenge will be lead by Josh Webster and Myles Dixon. Both Josh and Myles are new drivers to the GPVWC this season, but already have experience in other racing series, and both are extremely motivated and ready for the upcoming season.'Josh Webster was the first driver to take to the stage, and explained his decision to join the team, and outlined his expectations for the season. 'I chose to join Velocity Racing for the 2012 Formula Challenge season as they look like a professional and decisive team, which could give me a chance to win the championship. My aims are to get accustomed to the car as soon as possible, then to work in close relation to Ben and Myles regarding set-up. I am hoping to place in the top 3 in the championship this year, which I think is possible. I have known Myles for a couple of years now. He is getting better and better as a racing driver, and I think that me and him combined, will give us a fantastic team. We will hopefully be a force to be reckoned with.'Myles Dixon then took to the stage, also outlining his expectations for his rookie season. 'I chose to join Velocity Racing because I think I can offer the team my advice and expertise; as an upcoming Motorsport driver, I think my previous experience will help the team get far. My personal target is to finish in the points regularly, and hopefully get a few podiums.' Myles then touched upon the friendship and good working relationship with his teammate. 'Josh is a great driver, I know him well, so I hope we can work together to achieve our targets'.Team boss Warren went on to explain that while the team livery is still a work in progress, the final car would be presented to the media in the coming few weeks. While Velocity Racing are one of the new teams on the block, having Josh and Myles working together helps bring the team some instant familiarity, and the expectations for the team are relatively high in what should be an extremely interesting season.
