Formula Challenge new boys United Racers Motorsports unveiled the first signing for their new team - Frenchman Djemel Boukerche.

Boukerche, 44, comes from the French department of Hautes Alpes and is getting back into sim-racing after a hiatus of almost five years. "The desire to immerse myself again in the world of simulation took me back" he said. "I used to drive in various leagues with GTR and rFactor in the past and I have raced alongside Dave Carr-Smith, Ben Warren and Lee Morris".

Asked why such an experienced driver would start from such a basic point as the Formula Challenge, Boukerche replied "GPVWC corresponds well to the challenge that I am looking for. It is better for me to start by Formula Challenge to get a good command of cars and tracks."

"I am delighted to join United Racers Motorsports with Ihab Abbas as a manager because for me it's a new adventure which starts with a new team. Without losing time, I took back the training on the Assen track to be ready for the next GP."

"I hope to succeed in doing beautiful things and to take a lot of pleasure with you into GPVWC's community" were the Frenchman's parting thoughts.
