After almost three years of inactivity, the Egyptian racing team United Racers Motorsports is back in the sim racing business. The USA-based team decided to join the UltraNet Networks GPVWC Formula Challenge 2012, starting from the second round at Assen (Netherlands) and aiming for some good results during the long tough season.

The team manager Ihab Abbas had some negotiations with potential drivers that could put some good results for the team. "There were interesting negotiations while you are trying to hunt around the best deal for your team in a short period of time and a limited list of drivers available in the market, but we think that we have good result after all, as the team managed to signed two competitive veteran drivers, French gentleman Djemel Boukerche - who will drive the first car - and English gentleman Keith Storrie who will tame car two" Abbas said.

The team now moved to Assen for some testing ahead of the second round next Wednesday, as both drivers are putting real efforts to get into the form needed to compete with some of the best names around in the sim world. "The most important goal for the team in our debut is to finish the race and get the most points possible that allows the team to be in the top ten constructors ranking - especially as we missed the first round at Brands Hatch. Both gentlemen are doing well so far according to the lap times we see around this circuit" Abbas added.

"I'm delighted because for me it's a new adventure which starts with a new team. Without losing time I took back the training on the Assen's track to be ready for the next GP. I hope to have success in doing beautiful things." Djemel Boukerche said.

"Mr. Boukerche is showing well solid performance at Assen and impressed the team by his passion to regain his position in the sim world." Abbas said.

"Since 2007 I hadn't touched any wheels, and the itch to immerse in the world of the simulation again took me back. In the past I was in GTR and rFactor, in F1 career simracing I was with Dave Carr-Smith, Ben Warren and Lee Morris. GPVWC corresponds well to the challenge that I'm looking for. It's better for me to start by Formula Challenge to get a good command of cars and tracks." Boukerche added.

"I'm really looking forward to the Formula Challenge season and I don't expect to be quick straight away, I find the cars even harder to drive than the Superleague cars, but I know I can improve with a little time, patience and practice. Good luck to all the competitors in the FC season." Keith Storrie said.

"Negotiations with Keith went as fast as the team was searching for a second driver, and we were in a middle of negotiations with a driver from Spain but he didn't meet the team expectations when it comes to the spirit of produce the efforts of defending the team name and colors, while Mr. Keith responded in a way that made it easy to take the decision of signing him." the United Racers manager said.
