With the season start merely days away, the GPVWC Media Department is proud to announce the personnel which will fulfill broadcast duties throughout the 2013.
Last year saw a lack of consistency within the broadcasting halls of the GPVWC. We had the ability to go from brilliant, insightful broadcasts to having none at all. The team suffered from a lack of committed workers which meant we often approached some days unsure if we had the available resources to put on a broadcast. With that in mind, the Media Department begun late last year to start locking down participants to ensure a consistent quality throughout the three ?Career Ladder? series of the GPVWC.

Without further ado, let me introduce you to the people who will bring the GPVWC stream to life throughout 2013.

The GPVWC crown jewel, the Superleague, demands nothing but the best and during the post-season we actively sought to bring you that. After making a number of appearances in the commentary booth in 2012, Simon Smith will return as our lead commentator for Superleague. Having had the privilege to work with Simon last year on a number of broadcasts, I am delighted to have him back and to be the voice of the Superleague. Simon?s witty banter and styled way of delivering commentary won him many fans last year within the community. It is a real coup for the GPVWC to have him on board.

Joining him in the Superleague booth will be, depending on availability, Nick Rowland, William Ponissi and Ollie Woods. Nick Rowland is no stranger to the commentary booth and was part of the Supercup broadcasts when time allowed last season. He backstops this with plenty of experience in other sim-racing leagues behind the microphone.

League owner William Ponissi provides invaluable history about the GPVWC to any broadcast and will join in whenever his schedule allows. Aside from been league owner, Ponissi has a wealth of media experience from his line of work. Ollie Woods will be a fresh face in the commentary booth, having made his broadcast debut during the recent Race of Champions. Simon Melhuish will back this team up with his renowned skills of camera work during the broadcasts.

The Supercup will see Rowland shift to lead commentator role. While losing Rowland on track is a loss for the GPVWC, having him committed to the broadcast area lessens such a blow. Rowland will be joined by Tom Parker and Philip Cullen throughout the season, again depending on scheduling. Parker is no stranger to the commentary booth. His ability to inject emotion to the story will no doubt touch base with our passionate fan base. Philip Cullen appeared on a number of Superleague broadcasts last season and has recently hosted the new GPVWC Podcast series. This team will see Dave Carr-Smith handling camera duties on the day.

Finally, the Formula Challenge will welcome the return of Lee Morris to the commentary booth. Morris handled much of the early season broadcasts for the Formula Challenge last year before having to step aside due to other commitments on a Wednesday night. The change to Tuesday night will see him return to the role. Lee provided invaluable insight last season given his many years of sim-racing with some brutal, but honest opinions on driving. Morris, along with fulfilling the co-commentator role will also serve as camera man for the broadcasts.

He will be joined by the GPVWC?s newest lead commentator, Liam Jenkins. We are delighted to welcome a fresh face to the team and Liam comes highly recommended following stints in the commentary booth in numerous leagues. We hope that everyone makes him feel welcome and he can bring the same sort of enthusiasm seen in his highlight reel to the GPVWC broadcasts.

Strength and depth is key to ensure the consistent quality of broadcasts we are looking for in 2013. With this in mind, these gentlemen will be backed up by newcomers Bradley Vanian and James Kirk. Both gentlemen join us with a view to emulating those who have come before them and ingrain themselves in GPVWC folklore. The pair will provide backup to our primary teams should the real world intervene and will also be manning our World Sport Series and World GT broadcasts. More will be revealed on these in the coming weeks.

We hope you will enjoy the broadcasts throughout the season and wish our commentary teams the very best of luck for 2013.
