Fresh from their promotion to the top tier of GPVWC, YTF1 are pleased to announce the first driver that will be racing their Superleague car in 2019.

Just a week after the team's ascension to the Superleague grid was confirmed, YTF1 can confirm that Tobias Olsson will be joining the team to race in the 2019 season. With 40 races - two and a half seasons - under his belt, Tobias is no stranger to the Superleague and is one of the most experienced drivers to have competed in the 2018 season. Olsson is also no stranger to YTF1: he competed in several International Touring Cup and Touring Pro Series events in his previous stint at the team, back in 2014/15.

Tobias Olsson, race driver: "It feels very good to be part of the YTF1 for the Superleague 2019 season. The team seems to have a very good team spirit and for me it will be like coming back home to the team again after having last competed with the team a few years back [in ITC]. I bring experience from the 2018 season to the team even though the season personally did not work so well for me. But I hope to have a strong 2019 season together with YTF1 and now we are looking forward to the start of the season."

Matthew Allington, team owner: "Tobias brings useful Superleague experience and tremendous enthusiasm to the team, both of which I feel will be very useful as we aim to establish our presence on the Superleague grid. Having a driver on board who knows his way around the Superleague paddock is a tremendous boon and I also cannot stress enough how much of a pleasure it is to have active, communicative drivers as part of the team. Together we've discussed why Tobias' previous races in the Superleague perhaps didn't see his full potential unlocked, and we're determined to work together to make the most of his raw talents in the 2019 season."

Work is already underway behind the scenes, preparing the car and the team for the new season. It is perhaps not very secret that we also have an additional highly attentive and hard-working driver, with a proven track record of excellent car setup work, undertaking pre-launch development of the team's maiden Superleague challenger. The new car - to be called the YT08 - will be rolled out in time for the pre-season tests, which have started in the latter part of January in previous years.
