Swiss Squad presents car & drivers for the upcoming 2015 Formula Challenge season at Vitus Parc.

After a disappointing 2014 season in Supercup, finishing in last position and being demoted to Formula Challenge as a result, the team hopes for a fresh start in GPVWC's 3rd division of the career ladder system.

"I'd be lying if I said I was happy with the team being relegated to FC", says team owner David Jundt. "We were hoping to receive a second chance in Supercup since our first season had been a great succes as Giuseppe Rainieri won the driver's title and we finished 2nd in the team standings. But our hopes fell short when the FC grid was announced and we found our team name on it, even though we tried our best to assure everything would be better come 2015. All we can do now is look ahead and face our new "Formula Challenge".

Jundt also explained why he had chosen Vitus Parc as the unveiling location. "Well you know, why should we spend an enourmous amount of money by going to Hockenheim, Dijon or Monza? There are transport costs, fuel costs, circuit hire costs, etc. We save a lot of money on the first two areas by staying inside our frontiers. With that, we also set an example that we support our country's economy during the tough times of the Euro crisis, where people buy across the frontier and companies outsorce production and services.

So yeah, testing & presenting at Vitus Parc makes sense.

As for my driver line-up, I wanted to stay true to my motto of hiring new talents and signed two Open Series drivers from last season. Without further addo, I present Burno Sousa Ferreira&Jari Bruppacher as Primary drivers for Scuderia Basilea(this also marks the first time a Swiss will drive for a Swiss team at GPVWC)!"

Car #79, Bruno Sousa Ferreira:

"I?m thrilled to be joining Scuderia Basilea for their 2015 FC campaign, having gotten myself up to speed at the end of last season I am hoping for some great results this season and possibly a podiums or that elusive win in FC, also my goal is to help take Basilea back to Supercup by scoring constant good points. It will be tough season, as there will be some good teams and drivers in the field but I feel that I am more ready to compete in Formula Challenge than I was last year."

Car #89, Jari Bruppacher:

"Having started with online simracing not too long ago I am very glad to have been awarded the opportunity to race for Scuderia Basilea this season. Being a Swiss driver racing for a Swiss team makes this even more special. Furthermore David is a very experienced guy and definitely knows what he is doing. I have seen my teammate Bruno compete in the Open Series and I'm looking forward to working with him as well as racing him on track, knowing that he is a fantastic racer. I'm sure that this team is a great place to start my career in Formula Challenge."

David Jundt: "We've yet to announce a reserve driver, but we're not in a rush to sign someone. We're looking for someone that is reliable & consistent, but can also pressure our primary drivers a little."

The team is looking forward to the first event of the season, which starts off today at Melbourne Park.
