Technical
- A new contract system featured three different classes of driver contracts; Primary Drivers, Reserve Drivers and Emergency Drivers. Primary Drivers were not allowed to participate in any way in series “below” their current one in the career ladder, their commitment being to the series where they have a Primary contract.
