PENALTIES
  • (5682): Disciplinary Committee vs Alex Cooper - Avoidable contact - Racing Incident
    Cooper keeps a gap to the inside of Fournier, and then gets hit by Mlynek, compomising his turnin and running in the rear of Jordan. With it being five wide this was not going to work in a corner in turn 1. However, no one is found to have significantly more blame for the turn 1 scramble. Just some hot drivers risking it all and some drivers being innocent bystanders, but the whole incident in t1 had a lot of contributing factors which cannot be singled out

    George Sutton turns across the nose of Ranieri causing himself and Ranieri to spin. Rainieri had sufficient overlap to be granted space

    See comments in 5682. Also, brewers turnin did not allow for 3 cars on his inside, which was one factor in all the contributing factors

    Brewer never lost control of his car and kept to the left of the track. Pellegrini moves to the left of the track very quickly in a turn that goes right, but by doing so makes contact withj Brewer. Brewer did start to come to the right slightly, but that was because of the flow of the track. Brewer did not do anything wrong throughout the ordeal but Pellegrini moves across too violently with a car to the left of him. Avoidable contact
